Chitwan is one of the finest national parks in Asia, renowned for its dense concentration of wildlife and top class tourist lodges, which provide the opportunity to see animals in their natural habitat. Chitwan which means the ‘heart of jungle’ is among the last surviving examples of continuous band of forest and grass lands which once extended from the Indus river in Pakistan to the Burmese border. The main attraction here is the Royal Chitwan National Park, one of the largest forest regions in Asia teeming with wildlife such as the rare great one horned rhino, several species of deer, sloth bear, leopard wild boar, fresh water dolphins, crocodiles, more than 350 species of birds and the elusive Royal Bengal tiger. Royal Chitwan National Park is listed in UNESCO World Heritage Site (natural) list. Visitors to Chitwan may enhoy elephant back excursion, nature walks, canoe trips and jungle treks. There are several authorize agencies to organize such safaris. Visitors may also take river Trisuli or Seti Khola. The five-hour drive to Chitwan (165km overland) from Kathmandu is filled with thrilling views of the hills, rivers and plains with jungle on either side.
Day 01: Arrival to Chitwan.
It can be from Kathmandu or Pokhara or Lumbini or any other part of country. Similarly, the arrival can be by flight to Bharatpur (from KTM and PKR only) and get a short drive to Sauraha or drive even having experienced the thrilling water sport of White Water Rafting at Trishuli.
Upon arrival at Sauraha, Chitwan, check in lodge and get sometime rest. Then it starts with exciting safari activities and later dinner with Tharu Cultural show.
Day 02: Full day Chitwan National Park safari activities. All the activities are guided and expertise supported. The whole day is very exciting and fun filled day.
Day 03: Chitwan – departure.
Morning program like the bird watching and breakfast. Then drive to another destination or as your program.
