This short trek in the Kyanjin Gompa valley with Gosaikunda area provides a great opportunity to experience the typical culture and tradition of the Tamagees people in the upper ridges in short time. Even though the trip duration doesn’t seem so long, it provides ample times to see and visit varieties of interesting things, sceneries and snow mountains. A combination of beautiful old monasteries, sweeping valleys and river beds, glaciers and gushing snow fed rivers and rivulets, beautiful alpine lakes of fresh waters, amazing canyons and gorges, traditional cheese factories and many many more...

Itineraries

Day 01

Kathmandu Arrival | Hotel

International Airport reception and transfer to Hotel. Hotel will be of a 3 star standard with breakfast (twin sharing). Room check-in and (depending on time) there will be a short meeting on which please check your trek permits, entry/exit dates, your insurance policy and the detail it covers with the emergency number to contact in case of emergency. If necessary anything, also please note down! The guide will be introduced in the same time and then it's a free time ahead on which you may check your equipments, supplies. Kathmandu is the last good place to add if anything is short-falling. If needed advices of the guide or the representative of Alpine Exodus may available happily.

Day 02

Kathmandu to Syabrubensi | Hotel

After breakfast drive to Syabrubensi (1467m/7 hrs drive) on a privately reserved bus. Scenic road making most part of it smooth driving (recently upgraded). Along the road if you find good views, you may ask the driver to stop the bus for photos; it’s your own reserved transportation! Upon arrival at Syabrubensi we check-in to the lodge. And visit around until dinner time… then good night!

Day 03

Syabrubensi to Lama Hotel | Guest House

Following the Langtang River, we reach to Pairo (1680M) – a small place with some tea shops in an hour and half and further same time to Bamboo (1970 M) – probably a suitable place for lunch. Having gazing the river waters, one can spend several hours – we wait for lunch. After lunch another 3 hrs trek to Lama Hotel (2410 M). On the way we pass a lot of forests including of Rhododendron trees where animals like monkey (specially the languor), deer, jackals and various birds can be spotted. At Lama Hotel, room check-in and enjoy some free walks around until dinner in the evening.

Day 04

Lama Hotel to Langtang | Lodge

Breakfast & trek Gumnachok (2770m/1hr 15min) – Thomna (2790m/40min) – Ghoratabela (2992m/40min) – Thyangsyau (3120m/1hr). Trek runs mostly along the bank of Langtang Khola making pristine views of the green valley as well as to Mt. Langtang Llirung (7225m) at times from the trail. On the way there are some beautiful waterfalls. Ghoratabla is a beautiful small valley which now remains an army Check Post and it has good lodges and restaurants. The green valley with wild flowers and plants always feels to be special. We can rest sometime and take photos!
Langtang is about 2 hrs from Ghora Tabela.

Day 05

Langtang to Kyanjin Gompa | Guest House

Trek to Kyanjin Gompa (3800m/3hrs). We take rooms and get lunch before taking the hikes to Kyanjin Ri "I" and Kyanjin Ri "II" which are around 4300m and 4500m high. Both points offer excellently close views of Langtang Lirung (7225 M), Langtang II (6561 M) and the glacier from them. The Kimsung Himal (6745m) is visible from Kyanjin Ri II. On the back side - across the Langtang Khola, we can get a good panoramic view of Mt. Nayakhang (5844m), Ganjala Himalayan Range etc.

Day 06

Day in Kanjin Gompa; visit Tsergo Ri | Guest House

Day hike to Rsergo Ri (50333m) to experience the beautiful hiking with dramatic close-view of the giant snow mountains of Langtang area. You could check your adrenaline achieving that height starting from 3800’s valley floor. We carry pack lunch!

Day 07

Return to Lama Hotel | Guest House

This is mostly retracing. Summing up the views and feeling of achieving the successful trip, we descend to Lama Hotel, having stopped at Ghoratabela for lunch.

Day 08

Lama Hotel to Thulo Syabru | Hotel

It’s still to retrace upto Pairo Hotel. At Pairo, we catch up the upper trail that leads to the village of Thulo Syabru (2210m). It’s a steep up for 1.5 hr and the village has beautiful monastery, a school and small town of lodges, restaurants and of course commanding view of the trekking trail that we came from. Lodge check in and enjoy the free time strolling around.

Day 09

Thulo Syabru to Sing Gompa | Guest House

Trek to Deaurali Danda that has two Tea Shops (at 2720m/3hrs). It’s a long inclined slope walk from Thulo Syabru, passing some houses sparsely scattered and pleasant forest of oak, cheer pine, rhododendron etc. We can capture summit views of the some snow mountain located in Tibet. Take light lunch at Deaurali and ahead to Sing Gompa 3584 M) is an hour and 20 min walk. The same place is named Chandan Bari too and is famous for high quality cheese production.

Day 10

Sing Gompa to Gosaikunda | Guest House

Gosaikunda is reached in 3 hours passing Cholang Pati – a pleasant viewing place than to Lauri Bina a treeless pleasant inclined slope. At the end of this there is a temple from which a panoramic view can be captured. The trail to Gosaikunda becomes leveled after here. Check in Lodge and enjoy hot drinks and visit the lake areas. We will be visiting 3 lakes on the way and if hiking a little further is still fun, we go to see the Surya Lake for an hour and half. The lakes visited on the way are Sarswoti Kunda in the beginning then Bhairab Kunda and main lake of Gosaikunda. There are many other lakes in the area.

Day 11

Return to Sing Gompa | Guest House

Sunrising scenery may particularly be beautiful from here. Take time for photos & perhaps more photos of the lakes and surrounding at morning’s serenity! Then breakfast and leisurely trek return to Sing Gompa for the night.

Day 12

Sing Gompa to Dhunche | Hotel

Trek starts as usual after breakfast. The trail to Dhunche is all the way downhill (about 4hrs). At times the trial seems quite steep down, but of course for a short time and keep being interesting as it passes through the green lush forest area – chances to see different flora and fauna. Lunch at Dhunche and enjoy the free strolling around the bazaar.

Day 13

Dhunche to Kathmandu | Hotel

Breakfast and then drive to Kathmandu on bus (privately reserved). It is about of 5 – 6 hrs drive. Arrive to KTM and transfer to the hotel as before.

Day 14

Day in Kathmandu | Holte

Have breakfast at the Hotel and enjoy the free time. Ramble Thamel, make shopping! If interested afternoon city tour to Patan also called Lalitpur (meaning – city of fine arts and architecture). Return hotel and wait for the farewell dinner…!

Day 15

Fly back home...

Breakfast and more free time until the flight time backhome! Transfer to airport on the said time and check in for flight. Happy See Off!!
