Itineraries
Day 1
Kathmandu to Arughat | Lodge
Drive starts in the morning from Kathmandu for Arughat (elevation: 535m). It will be a slow but interesting as the sweeping road advances passing interesting settlements by the roadside. Trishuli River right after we leave the Kathmandu valley & after follow the Buri Gandaki river. It is about 7-8 hrs drive.
Day 2
Arughat to Machha Khola | Lodge
Machhakhola from Arughat is normally for two days trek, but since upto Soti Khola there is a jeep service, we take it. So, drive for another one hour and then enter the great hiking schedule. Sotikhola (700m) to Machha Khola (870m) is 5-6hrs trek on easy paces. Today we pass Lapu Bensi (884m), Nauli Khola (920m), Khanibesi (970m) before to arrive to Machha Khola on our trekking part after Soti Khola.
Day 3
Machha Khola to Jagat | Lodge
After breakfast we hit the trail in the morning around 8 or 8:30. That we will keep for next many days. We establish something like "trek early - reach early". That will particularly beneficial for this route in terms of escaping the possible bad weather in the late PM times. Jagat (1340m) is about 11-12KM away from Machhakhola which takes about 6 to 6:30 hrs. Today's lunch at Dobhan (1070m) after the suspension bridge (over the Dovan Khola coming from Ganesh Himal range.
Day 4
Jagat to Lokpa | Lodge
While you will be taking breakfast, your guide will complete the entrance procedures at the check post at Jagat. Beyond is the Manaslu Conservation Area where the special trek permits is required.
Today's trek advances passing interesting small settlements of Salleri (1350m) - Sirdibas (1420m) - Philim (1570m) - Ekle Bhatti (1600m) before to arrive at Lokpa (2040m). Total distance we cover today will be 10 -11km in 5 to 5:30hrs walk.
Day 5
Lokpa to Chumling | Lodge
Today is a view day!
To Chumling (2386m) from Lokpa is not that long hike and the elevation is not much either (about 3.5km only). So, today's trek is a lunch-camp trek. We arrive at Lokpa, make the lodge check in and after lunch we go for village visit where interesting monasteries as well as amazing valley views are enjoyed.
Day 6
Chunling to Chhokang Paro | Lodge
We're gradually picking up the elevation! The green forests will change to a sort of pale and dryer area where greenery is just a dwarf bushes.
After Chmling, we stop for lunch at Kowa (2630m) and from here to Chhokang Paro (3010m) about 3 hrs gentle slop trail. Today's total distnace will be about 12 to 13km and total trek hours from 7 to 8.
Day 7
Chhokang Paro to Chhule-Nile | Lodge
Chhule Nile is situated at 3361m and is about 9km from Chhokang Paro that should be covering by more or less 5 hrs trek.
On the way interesting settlements are passed thru where beautiful monasteries as well as colorful village life from the remote Himalayan valleys can be observed. Close up snow mountain view is another attraction of today.
Day 8
Chhule Nile to Dupchet | Lodge
Another remarkably adventurous day is today. We will be gaining about 800m as Dupchet is situated at 4180m in 6:30 to 7 hrs, leisurely walk. On the way we will have tremendous mountain views as well as unique valley vistas. The villages are getting much more sparse, but a lot of natures and superb views everywhere!
Day 9
Dupchet - Chhemdo - Dupchet | Home Stay
It's a day trip for detail exploration of Chhemdo (4110m) and beyond. It has amazing views of Sanjo Glacier. It takes approximately 7 to 8 hrs for up and down. Pack lunch is served on the way.
Day 10
Dupchet - Pama - Dupchet | Home stay
Pama (4580m) is the last settlement before the Tibet border in Manaslu area. It's not a big settlement but has a beautiful monastery and further heading along trail would lead to Tibet for the locals. Spend good times enjoying the vicinity and for the night return to Dupchet. Up and down it takes 6-7 hrs.
On the return, if interested you can find host stays at Bhajyo also.
Day 11
Dupchet [or Bhajyo] return to Rachen Gompa | Lodge
We're gradually picking up the return course now. It's the same way back to follow to Rachen Gompa.
Rachen Gompa is a bigger village and has more attractions to visit. If anyone was missed while going up, have time to visit it today.
Day 12
Rachen Gompa to Ripchet | Lodge
It's a fully retracing walk upto Domje. At Domje we take the left-hand side trail to reach to Ripchet leaving the right-hand side fork that comes from Chumling. It's totally 6-7hrs walk.
Day 13
Ripchet to Jagat | Lodge
It's a little longer trek to do, but seems possible while on descending. But if this seemed farther or harder, you may break the day at Philim or Sridibas.
Day 14
Jagat [or Philim] to Lapubensi | Lodge
It's a happy return, a little longer course should be alright! As said above, if seemed harder, the journey can be broken any good places such as Machha Khola or Khani Besi etc.
Day 15
Lapubensi [or Khorlabesi] to Arughat | Hotel
Spend the last night in the mountain with your companions for the last 2 weeks with good dinners! See the porters if they can't sing the Resham Firiri, normally everyone has a great talent of singing this.
Being this is the last day with most of the porters and helpers, if you are planning to tip them something or have more photos please do that today evening.
Day 16
Drive to Kathmandu | Hotel
It's a same way drive back to KTM for 7-8 hrs. Hotel check in and free time, enjoy the evening as you like going to some of your fav restaurants in Thamel.
Trip over!
- Transportation to Arughat and further to Lapubensi as well as return to Kathmandu,
- Trek permits, National Entry fees (Manaslu National Park, Tsum Valley Restricted entry ticket, Annapurna Conservation Area etc),
- 1 guide and porters [at the basis of 2 guests : 1 porter] on trek,
- 3 meals [breakfast, lunch, dinner] during trek (from Day 1 to Day 16 (Breakfast & Lunch) with hot drinks, boiled water (for drink, please read below on the below cost excluding items),
- Daily warm water for face-wash, brushing teach etc. [about a liter of warm water served on a washing bowl daily in the morning for the higher|colder areas],
- Trekking map, duffle bag (for trek if required), welcome dinner, any personal assistance that does not generate extra expenses etc.
- Hotel in Kathmandu before and after the trip,
- Personal expenses, personal wear (rain wear, warm clothes), trek gear etc.
- Meals (lunch and dinner) while in Kathmandu,
- Kathmandu city sightseeing if any,
- Travel insurance, medicine and emergency expenses,
- Cold drinks, bar bills, bottled water, expensive drinks such as chocolate drink, espresso etc. Only tea [black tea or milk tea] is included, [Boiled water is provided only for drink and that will be limited amount on daily basis],
