Overview
Cross the remote Mesokanto Pass on an epic Annapurna high-pass circuit, combining rugged landscapes, hidden valleys, alpine lakes and spectacular Himalayan views.
The Mesokanto Pass Annapurna High Pass Circuit is for trekkers looking beyond the usual Annapurna trails and searching for a truly remote Himalayan adventure. After Tilicho Lake and Tilicho Base Camp, the route leaves the comfort of regular trekking trails and enters a rugged, high-altitude wilderness of glaciers, rocky valleys, alpine lakes and dramatic mountain scenery. Crossing Mesokanto Pass is demanding, but the reward is an unforgettable journey through a quieter and rarely visited side of the Annapurna region.
Trip Type: Trekking, Adventure,
Locations: Annapurna Circuit Area, Tilicho Lake section
Trip Duration: 15 days,
Difficulty Level: Medium to Hard,
Season: Early Autumn, late Spring-the best.
One of the important features of this trek is the overnight camp between Tilicho Base Camp and Thini village. This section cannot be treated like an ordinary trekking day. There is no reliable lodge accommodation along the route, so spending the night in a tent is essential for breaking the journey safely and comfortably. In the past, many FIT trekkers have attempted this section without proper local guidance and missed the main trail, eventually following the wrong route in this remote and confusing terrain. The right route, navigation, weather awareness, and timing matter greatly here.
At Alpine Exodus, our experienced field guides know this terrain from practical experience, not simply from maps. They take care of navigation, camping logistics, food, equipment, route decisions, and the small but important details that can make a challenging trek successful. With the right team beside you, Mesokanto Pass becomes not only an adventure, but a well-managed Himalayan journey you can truly enjoy.
