Tilicho Peak Expedition Nepal - Climb the World’s Highest Lake Region is an exciting high-altitude mountaineering adventure in the spectacular Annapurna Himalaya. Rising to 7134 meters (23405 feet), Tilicho Peak is an attractive objective for experienced climbers looking to progress from Himalayan 6000-meter peaks to a more demanding 7000-meter expedition.
The mountain combines a challenging ascent with an exceptional Himalayan setting. Climbers encounter steep snow and ice slopes, technical sections, high-altitude terrain and demanding summit conditions, while the approach passes through the magnificent Manang Valley, traditional mountain villages and the spectacular surroundings of Tilicho Lake.
Tilicho Peak is particularly appealing to mountaineers who have already gained experience on Himalayan 6000-meter peaks and are seeking their next major challenge. The combination of technical climbing, high-altitude expedition skills and breathtaking Annapurna scenery makes this an unforgettable Himalayan climbing experience.
Location: Annapurna Range, Nepal

Base Camp: The expedition Base Camp is typically established near Tilicho Lake, at approximately 4919 meters (16138 feet). The location provides a dramatic setting surrounded by the high peaks of the Annapurna region.
High Camps & Expedition Strategy: The expedition will strategically use two high camps, with a third camp established if required depending on weather conditions, snow and ice conditions, route safety and other objective hazards.
Camp I: 5800 m / 19026 ft
Camp II: 6200 m / 20338 ft
Camp III: 6600 m / 21651 ft (if required)
Approximate Climbing Sections

Camp I to Camp II: Very steep terrain, including sections approaching 90° with vertical ice
Camp II to Camp III: Approximately 40°–60°, with sections reaching a maximum of around 70°
These technical sections demand strong physical conditioning, sound acclimatization and appropriate experience with high-altitude snow and ice climbing.
Climbing Route:
The expedition follows the North-West Shoulder Ridge route, using a strategic high-camp system. Alpine Exodus operates the climbing phase with an approximate 2:1 client-to-guide ratio, providing close support during the technical and summit sections of the expedition.
Best Time to Climb:
The principal climbing seasons are:
Spring: Late April to early June
Autumn: Late September to mid-November
These periods generally offer the most favorable conditions for high-altitude climbing, although mountain weather and route conditions can change rapidly.
Tilicho Lake & the Manang Approach
One of the defining attractions of the expedition is its approach through the spectacular Manang Valley toward Tilicho Lake. At approximately 4,919 meters (16,138 feet), Tilicho Lake is renowned as one of the world's highest-altitude lakes. The journey also passes through remarkable Himalayan landscapes and settlements, including Manang and Hongde, creating a memorable combination of cultural exploration, trekking and technical mountaineering.
Tilicho Peak therefore offers far more than a summit attempt. It is a complete Himalayan expedition that combines a demanding 7,000-meter ascent, technical snow and ice climbing, high-altitude adventure and some of the most impressive scenery in the Annapurna region.
