Overview

The Khopra Trek is one of Nepal’s most rewarding off-the-beaten-path adventures, combining spectacular Himalayan scenery

The Khopra Trek is one of Nepal’s most rewarding off-the-beaten-path adventures, combining spectacular Himalayan scenery, authentic mountain villages, and peaceful trekking trails. Ideal for those seeking a quieter alternative to the busier Annapurna routes, this trek offers an unforgettable journey through lush rhododendron forests, alpine meadows, and traditional Gurung and Magar settlements.

The highlight of the trek is the stunning Khopra Ridge (3660 m), where trekkers are treated to breathtaking panoramic views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri Himalayan ranges. Towering snow-capped peaks, including Annapurna South, Machhapuchare (Fishtail), Nilgiri, Dhaulagiri, Hiunchuli, and many others, dominate the skyline in every direction. An optional day hike to the sacred Khayer Lake (4550m/14926ft) adds an extra sense of adventure and rewards trekkers with pristine alpine landscapes and one of Nepal’s most beautiful high-altitude lakes.

With its moderate difficulty level, excellent mountain lodges, rich local culture, and incredible natural beauty, the Khopra Trek is suitable for both first-time trekkers and experienced hikers looking for a less crowded Himalayan experience.
