Tilicho Peak, situated at an elevation of 7,134 meters (23,405 feet), is a significant peak in the Annapurna range of the Himalayas in Nepal.

One of the most sought-after snow peaks in the Annpurna Himalaya system. Easy proximity and excellent adventurous technical level attracts all the armatures. If you have done some of the 6 thousanders in the Himalayas already and looking to try a 7 thousander then this comes to your excellent choice. Location: Annapurna Range, Nepal.

Elevation: 7,134 meters (23,405 feet).

Base Camp: Typically, the base camp is set up near Tilicho Lake, at around 4,919 meters (16,138 feet).

High Camps & other details: Strategically on Tilicho peak expedition, we will have to have 2 camps but assessing the weather, snow/ice and other objective dangers along the route, the camp 3 can be setup.

Base Camp to Camp (I) – steep 70º/90º

Camp (I) to Camp (II) – steep 90º with ice vertical,

Camp (II) to Camp (III) – 40º/ 60º or Max. 70º

Climbing route: North-West Shoulder Ridge route, Camp 1, 2, and 3 strategy at 2:1 client/guide ratio throughout the expedition,

Time to climb: Best Time to Climb: late April to early June (for spring season) and late September to mid November (for autumn season).

It is renowned for its challenging climbing routes and the stunning Tilicho Lake, the highest lake in the world, situated nearby at an elevation of about 4,919 meters (16,138 feet) as well as the beautiful villages fall en-route such as the Manang Valley, Hongde etc.

What's Included

  • Certified Climbing Guide & assistant (so the ratio of guide/client will be 2:1. Additional guide/s can be arranged, but applies extra charges),
  • Base camp arrangement with a team of Cook and kitchen helpers (Helpers increase with the number of climbing team members),
  • Hotel accommodation in Kathmandu & Pokhara or as the program. (Should clients return early from their expedition, clients will be responsible for their extra Kathmandu hotel bookings),
  • Tilicho Peak climbing permit,
  • All trekking permits and entry tickets (Annapurna Region Permit and TIMS),
  • All internal-local transportation to and from the trekking trailhead,
  • Expedition tents (2 men tents). Local make tents for base camp, these are warmer, cozier and stronger. For higher camps Brands Salewa, Mountain Hardwear, Samaya equipment, Kailas etc.
  • 40 kgs personal weight (Extra additional weight, clients will need to hire an additional porter. Estimated $850 USD for 26 - 28 Days),
  • Chocolate, energy bars, hydration pills, biscuits, canned foods, etc.

Frequently Asked Questions

Experience level required:

Previous high altitude climb of at least 1 X 6000M and several technical peaks of with alpine/mountaineering climbing experiences are absolutely necessary in order to climb Tilicho peak.

Climbers need to have good knowledge and experience of hiking/climbing using crampons on snow, ice and steep surfaces. Be comfortable in using a fixed rope to climb on steep and exposed sections, traversing on mountain slopes and climbing through spurs on the routes. Climbers must be knowledgable with the use of climbing gears, basic rope techniques like tying safety knots, and abseiling when coming down from the mountains. And imprtantly the clients have the mentally and strongly prepared to climb in cold and windy conditions.

Local Guides: by Nepalese law, when issuing permits for high altitude peaks that are other than the NMA list peaks, guides are a must. To issue the climbing permit for this Tilicho Peak process will have to go through a registered local company.
