A short and easy hike to the Champadevi Hill at the valley rim that provides beautiful sceneries of the valley itself and the great panorama of the snow mountains along with the various temples or worshiping spots in almost every village and remarkable monuments. Starts from near Taudaha in Pharping to end at Kritipur connected easily with various of means of drive and can be catered any of the day you plan. Just pack your normal hiking gears and a water bottle and when you love outdoor walking, you’re ready to go!
Itinerary
This hike starts with the approximately 01 hour drive to Pharping (south - west) of Kathmandu. Pharping (19 Km.) is the typical Newari town, surprisingly untouched by the swarm of tourists thatvisit near-by Dakshinkali (separate spot following the same road). Before the 1st Shaha King, Prithvi Narayan Shaha, unified Nepal, this was another tiny city-state. We then walk for about 03 hours to the Champadevi Hill for. Have a pack lunch there. The magnificent views of Kathmandu Valley, Kirtipur and further & others are seen seen from here. After lunch we descend down to the Kirtipur in about 02 hours. Kirtipur (6 Km. southwest) is an ancient hill top town. From here we drive back to Kathmandu. This hike will take 5-6 hours walk..
